Com Port reassignment 5150

I have a 5150 and a Bluetooth pcmcia adapter which seems to always attach to com ports 9 through 11. Most of my utilities require com ports 1 through 4 (ie GPS receivers and Navigation software). How can I reassign the com ports to 1 through 4? If the 5150 has no external serial ports (usually com 1 and 2) why aren't these ports available? If my modem is residing on port 6, what devices are using 1 through 5? is there any way to redirect com ports like in the old DOS days?
